Coca-Cola India, a prominent player in the beverage industry, has ventured into the digital commerce space by launching its unique ‘Coke Shop’ marketplace solely on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). This deliberate step mirrors the company’s goal of broadening its market presence and serving a varied consumer demographic, leveraging the capabilities offered by digital avenues. Collaborating with SellerApp, the company aims to utilise data-driven analyses, market understanding, and inventive approaches, facilitating the smooth inclusion of Coca-Cola’s offerings within the ONDC framework.

Through its affiliation with ONDC, Coca-Cola seeks to amplify the accessibility of its merchandise and reach a broader spectrum of consumers. This endeavour is notably advantageous for retailers who encountered hurdles in accessing prominent e-commerce platforms, granting them a fresh chance to re-engage with patrons and broaden their customer outreach.

Ambuj Deo Singh, Vice President of Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia’s Digital Acceleration Office, showed great excitement regarding ONDC’s efforts in democratising the e-commerce scene. Singh emphasised the journey towards transformation, centred on inclusivity and prioritising consumers, and underscored Coca-Cola’s dedication to this approach.

Moon Beverages Ltd., the designated ‘Network Participant’ representing Coca-Cola in India, will facilitate an effortless and all-encompassing gateway for consumers to discover and buy Coca-Cola’s extensive range of beverages via the ONDC platform. T Koshy, the Managing Director and CEO of ONDC, welcomed Coca-Cola’s inclusion in the network, emphasising the enriched shopping journey for consumers and the widened array of options now accessible to buyers within the ONDC framework.

This significant step not only underscores Coca-Cola’s dedication to adjusting to changing consumer preferences but also demonstrates the beverage company’s strong commitment to nurturing a more encompassing and technologically advanced retail environment in India.
