In a bustling bookstore, Bollywood star Anushka Sharma recently showcased a different side of herself, revealing a narrative that aligns with KitKat’s long-standing ethos of taking breaks. The actress, donning a red blazer and blue jeans, strolled into the store expecting recognition but went unnoticed—a scenario that initially made her feel a tad out of place.

In pursuit of a book titled ‘On a Break’, Sharma settled on a couch, unwrapped a KitKat bar, and savoured its chocolatey goodness while awaiting her chosen read. Unfazed by the lack of attention, she comfortably removed her shoes and meticulously picked up any stray chocolate bits that landed on her outfit.

Approaching the cashier to settle the bill, Sharma casually disclosed her name, which surprisingly didn’t ring any bells. This subtle anonymity puzzled her, prompting a smile as she exited, responding nonchalantly to the cashier’s mention of familiarity.

The campaign highlighted Sharma’s adjustment to being unrecognised, mirroring her current real-life break from the limelight after her last appearance in ‘Zero’ back in 2018. As she indulged in KitKat’s new layered chocolate bar, a realisation dawned on her—the importance of enjoying moments without the weight of recognition.

KitKat, known for advocating breaks, also unveiled a new premium range comprising three delectable variants: Rich, Dark, and Caramel Coated Wafers.These will be available nationwide at prices ranging from Rs. 70 to Rs. 180. To commemorate the launch, the brand collaborated with Anushka Sharma for this campaign, aiming to showcase the essence of the brand’s new indulgent offerings. Gracing her new role as KitKat’s Premium range ambassador, Sharma expressed her enthusiasm, asserting that the new line will offer an unparalleled indulgence.

Expressing excitement about this expansion, Rupali Rattan, Director of Confectionery Business at Nestlé India, emphasised KitKat’s commitment to innovation, joy, and consumer satisfaction. The brand’s decision to appoint Sharma as the face of their premium range stems from her alignment with the brand’s persona.
