Lava and Qubo, prominent Indian smart electronics brands, have outshone their global counterparts, securing leadership positions in customer ratings within the country, according to a study conducted by market analysis firm Techarc. Lava, with a weighted average customer rating of 4.2 on e-commerce platforms, has established itself as the top-rated domestic brand, showcasing widespread popularity and acceptance among consumers. Qubo, a Hero group firm specialising in IoT, closely follows with a commendable rating of 4.1, surpassing the industry average of 4 and affirming its appeal to consumers.

In terms of performance against global counterparts, Lava’s average weighted rating of 4.2 is comparable to industry benchmarks set by global brands like Realme and Redmi, both scoring an average of 4.3. Notably, Lava surpassed these global brands with a higher proportion of high ratings (4 and 5) at 90.2%, outshining the 75.8% achieved by the global counterparts. While Qubo secured a notable 4.1 rating, surpassing the industry average, its global counterparts achieved a higher proportion of 4 and 5 ratings, suggesting areas for improvement to compete on a global scale.

Techarc’s analysis underscores the significance of end-to-end product design and development within India, with brands like Lava and Qubo excelling in customer ratings. The emphasis on local design and development appears to contribute significantly to their popularity among Indian consumers.
