HIL Limited, a company promoted by CK Birla, has recently acquired the Topline brand of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes and four associated firms for a total of Rs 265 crore. This strategic move aims to strengthen HIL’s position in the PVC pipes segment and tap into the growing demand driven by infrastructure and housing projects.
HIL Limited, a building materials company specialising in roofing, has been actively expanding its presence in the PVC pipes segment. The acquisition of the Topline brand is a significant step towards HIL’s commitment to accelerate its fast-growing pipes and fittings business in the estimated Rs 55,000 crore Indian PVC pipes and fittings market. This acquisition not only brings the Topline brand under HIL’s umbrella but also provides access to a complementary portfolio of products, technologies, and market footprint. It is expected to significantly scale HIL’s production capacity and nearly double its revenue.
By acquiring the Topline brand, HIL Limited aims to enhance its presence in significant government projects and secure approval across 12 states for the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). The company plans to expand its stock keeping unit (SKU) offerings, access patented technologies in electrofusion fittings and water tanks, and position itself among the top tier players in the industry. HIL Limited’s ambition is to be five times its current size in the pipes and fittings category by 2026.
