Hyderabad’s Biofactor, a frontrunner in the production of bio-fertilizers and essential nutrients, has advanced agricultural studies through its strengthened foliar nourishment solution called ‘Belom.’ This upgraded product has demonstrated substantial effectiveness in amplifying crop yields, particularly in demanding environments such as drought and diverse abiotic stressors affecting both commercial and seasonal crops.

Biofactor, recognized as the pioneer in producing Metabolite Assisted Micron Sized (MAMS) nutriments worldwide, has rapidly captured market acclaim with its flagship product ‘Belom’. LN Reddy, the visionary behind Biofactor, disclosed that extensive nationwide research on the advanced Belom series showcased outstanding outcomes, especially in challenging scenarios like drought and other adverse conditions. This groundbreaking MAMS technology integrated into foliar nutriment comprises 13 essential nutrients crucial for fostering robust plant and crop growth.

Reddy emphasised that the modernised ‘Belom’ series is set to be accessible to farmers worldwide, noting that these products are adaptable to different crop varieties. He highlighted that commercial crops grown in rain-fed regions with the Belom series displayed exceptional quality and higher yields. He added that farmers could now participate in economical crop cultivation, especially in areas and seasons affected by drought. Research findings revealed a significant 20-30% surge in yields attributable to the use of the Belom series, alongside improved crop resilience against diseases and pests.

Emphasising the broad acceptance of the ‘Belom’ series, Reddy noted that more than 100,000 farmers nationwide are currently experiencing the advantages of these foliar nutriment products. Biofactor conducted comprehensive research encompassing diverse crops like paddy, maize, tomato, brinjal, marigold, chilli, and cotton, spanning various regions and seasons within India.

In addition, Biofactor has recently entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (CIRCOT) under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). This collaboration is geared towards the commercialization of nano zinc suspension production technology, a move aimed at further elevating their innovative contributions within the agricultural sector.

Since its inception in 2014, Biofactor has significantly expanded its footprint, now operating in 16 states and employing a workforce of 650 individuals. The company prides itself on an extensive network of over 3,500 dealers nationwide. Demonstrating its commitment to pioneering advancements, Biofactor possesses 35 exclusive strains in probiotics and holds eight patents in nanotechnology.

Biofactor is on the cusp of significant expansion and global outreach as it prepares for robust growth. LN Reddy, in charge of the company, disclosed a strategic vision involving a substantial Rs 100 crore investment. This investment aims to establish new agricultural input capacities not only in Hyderabad and Rajasthan but also in Malawi, Africa. As part of its global foray, the company plans to explore international markets, aiming to licence out its revolutionary Belom foliar nutriment to key players in Europe and South America. Furthermore, Biofactor has earmarked an additional Rs 23 crore investment for the establishment of its own facility in Malawi.
